Hot Cereal with Chocolate, Almonds and Coffee

Why not treat yourself this Christmas morning to our special Chocolate Hot Cereal, enjoyed best when eaten in pajamas by the fireplace! This breakfast comes together in minutes so you can get back to the real business of Christmas: opening presents! 

Serves 2

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup almond milk
  • 1/2 cup espresso coffee, prepared
  • 1/3 cup dark chocolate
  • 1 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon pure almond extract
  • 3/4 cup  GoGo Quinoa 4 grain hot cereal

Toppings

  • 1/2 pear, sliced
  • 2 tbsp whole almonds, chopped
  • 2 tbsp piece of dark chocolate
  • 1/4 cup GoGo Quinoa puffed quinoa
  • 2 tbsp of almond butter

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, heat the milk with the coffee over medium low heat
  2. Turn off the heat and add the cocoa, chocolate, maple syrup, almond extract until the chocolate is melted and mix well
  3. Remove from heat and add the cereals and mix for about 2 minutes, until the cereal is cooked
  4. Divide between two bowls and add the garnishes. Enjoy!
